When Love Life Do Not Go My Way, I Know God Has Reserved the Best for Me

Every girl has always dreamt of “the perfect man” in their life. Of course this applies to a man finding their “perfect girl” as well. So do I. But I clearly heard the Lord telling me to wait. However at times, when I heard Him saying “This is the day”, faithfully believing in Him but it did not turn out as I expected. I thought I heard God, but it was not what I hoped for. Does this mean I have to give up and tell Him, “God, I thought Your promises are true, but why does this happen to me?” When this sentence came to my thought, I immediately realised that my flesh was trying to mess me up again.

To all the beloved daughters and sons out there, as His beloved daughter myself, I also have longed so much for the “perfect love” from a man in this world. A man who will love me as close as how Jesus love me, a man who has first loved by Jesus and will love me the same way.

So when my love life did not go the way I want it to be, I will still stand strong in my faith, for I know Christ is in me and only His faith is the perfect one, that I can be obedient in the Lord’s ways and wait on His timing. As you can see from my first paragraph, as a human myself, I failed to trust God and had that glimpse of doubt and fear that my love life will not go the way I want it to be. Thank God for His Son, Jesus. If it is not for His faith in me, I do not know how I can receive God’s blessings freely.

Beloved, I am here to tell you the good news from the scriptures in the bible:

1 John 10:22-23 “Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having out hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful”

When we receive Jesus and born again, we too can have the Lord’s promises and blessings. When our flesh started to take over our mind, declare in Jesus name that our faith remain in tact and when we keep confessing our hope without wavering, God’s promises will happen in His perfect timing for us.

God do not lie. Everything He did for us is for our own good, for He knows the consequences and the end result of our life, not just our love life. This is why sometimes God do not allow things to happen in our present life because He knows we are going to suffer in future. So when I thought I heard God, I might heard it wrongly, and sometimes it is my own mind that spoke to me instead of God. Because of my desire to have things “now and immediately” might mislead me into thinking that it is God who spoke to me. So when things did not happen the way I expected, I usually tell myself, God has even much better plan for me. I know God has already reserved the best for me, including the love of my life. Because God Himself create “Love” in this world for it is said in the scripture:

Genesis 2:22-24 “Then the rib which the Lord God had taken from man He made into a woman, and He brought her to the man. And Adam said: ‘This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; She shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.’ Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.”

Love already began way before Christ was born as “the Son of Man”. God knows how important love is for us and that is why He created it, for us not to be lonely and happy for the rest of our lives. Waiting for the one He meant to give us is really important. Only He knows who is best for us for the man or woman in our lives will be the one who spends the rest of our life with. So, do not fear because of age is catching up and hurry yourself to find one. Do not be afraid for what already has your name in it written by God, it belongs to you. Let me share this beautiful verses with you:

Proverbs 4:20-23 “My son, give attention to my words; Incline your ear to my sayings. Do not let them depart from your eyes; Keep them in the midst of your heart; For they are life to those who find them, and health to all their flesh. Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it spring the issues of life.”

I love to apply this verses into my love life. As you all know, I am 29 this year and I will hit my 30s in 3 months time. I just ended a relationship and is living a single life now. When I am down because of a heavy aching heart, I reminded myself to read His Word in the bible, keep those precious Words in my heart and apply it to my life. Proverbs 4:20-23, letting me know that God promise His words will give me life to my flesh. Life in this case for me is not just referring to what I will do for my career next time but also in other areas of my life like my love life that I have always yearn for. Look, the verse continues on to say that His Words will give health as well. This is good news for me, because no matter at what age I will be at, I am always healthy and when you are healthy, you will look radiant and beautiful, younger and younger. The last sentence goes on to tell me to keep my heart with all diligence. I might experience hurt and pain but I know when I am reading His faithful promises from the bible, my heart will automatically be at rest and stay diligent. Of course I cannot do this on my own. I have the help of Jesus in me and next time I will elaborate on that more in my post.

Beloved, as always I want to encourage you to keep your heart at rest because it is true that what you feel from your heart is what determines the thoughts in your mind. And sometimes the thoughts in your mind is what determines the path you will take in life. That is why for the last sentence in Proverbs 4:20-23 it warns us to guard our heart, for out of it springs the issues of life. I pray that you will always have eternal peace in your heart that God will always direct your direction to the way He wants you to go. God bless and have a blessed restful night (:
